Céline, I use the silicon/translucent glove, I haven't tried the more realistic, skin-looking cosmesis myself, I did get a chance to look at one of their standard ones and it was pretty good. Maybe something I'll try at some point.

You are so right and thank you so much for sharing this with people.

One thing about my daughter is that when she sees someone staring for too long and they begin to make her uncomfortable she will walk up to them and shake their hand with her little hand and say, "I was born this way, See (sticking her little hand up), God made me this way."

She is not being mean but we have taught her that people wonder what happened and are curious and that is it is better to approach someone then stare at someone.

I think you touched on something so many of us forget. To take a second glance, and even to stare is human nature. It doesn't automatically mean they are thinking nasty thoughts. It's normal to be curious.

Thank you so much for sharing both your take, and that video clip. As the mother of a child born without fingers, I've often worried about how life will treat her. But your blog gives me a new perspective, and has caused me to quit worrying.

Master Mccammon,

Thanks for the Words of Wisdom. The irony of it all is that many in our culture live with "mini-disabilities" such as limiting beliefs, poor self esteem, and a victim mentality. One can truly become "disabled" if they allow these multiple mini-disabilities to become their identity, and that can be more tragic than an actual physical disability.

So many of us walk around with super-natural abilities to love, achieve, and reach out to others yet we deny ourselves this gift because we simply do not believe we can do it. You shine your light so brightly it is hard to see any darkness around you.

God Bless, and Keep up the Great Work!

Hope you feel better soon,
